On Wednesday, December 7th, fourteen Rutgers College students from Chabad were invited to attend a Presidential Forum sponsored by the RJC in the Reagan Building in Washington DC.
In addition Rabbi Shaiki Shagalow and Rabbi Mendy Carlebach from Chabad House - Lubavitch in New Brunswick, NJ were on hand.
The Forum gave every candidate (except for Ron Paul - because of his anti-Israel views) an opportunity to speak for half an hour and take questions from the audience.
One of the Rutgers Chabad students were chosen to ask Newt Gingrich a question. Following the Forum a VIP reception was held where attendees had the chance to talk privately with all the candidates.
Rabbi Mendy Carlebach thanked Senator Rick Santurom for his steadfast support for Eretz Yisroel in light of his recent comments to a CNN reporter regarding his view on the status of Yehuda V'shomron. The Senator stated that Israel should not disband the Settlements and pledged support for Shleimus Haaretz.
In addition, Former Speaker Newt Gingrich also pledged his support for Shleimus Haaretz to Rabbi Carlebach and publicly declared that he will sign a executive order within two hours after his Inauguration to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Yerushalayim.
